TikTok litigation: Any potential new owner of the popular video app would inherit an estimated 1,500 lawsuits, many over child safety and privacy, with potential exposure of billions of dollars. The litigation may complicate the Trump administration’s efforts to save the app, which faces a US ban on Saturday if its China-based owner, ByteDance Ltd., doesn’t sell to American buyers. Switch 2 reaction: Nintendo may sell 14.7 million on the new game consoles, research firm Omdia predicted, surpassing the tally for the debut of the original Switch eight years ago. Other analysts, too, were bullish on the device, saying the technical improvements and availability of games should boost sales. Israel’s Iron Beam: The country is working on a futuristic weapon using bursts of light to knock drones from the sky. The laser is expected to be integrated into Israel’s air defenses later this year. | |

Runway AI, the maker of an artificial intelligence model that can generate videos, was valued at more than $3 billion in a funding round that raised $308 million. The startup, which doubled its previous valuation, earlier this week released Gen-4, which aims to let users create videos with consistent characters, objects and backgrounds. | |
