Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has emerged as a defiant voice against President Donald Trump and his immigration policies. Her recent appearance before Congress alongside leaders of other sanctuary cities — in which she pushed back on the White House’s mass deportation agenda — have put her both in Republican crosshairs and increasingly in the national spotlight. Wu is set to launch her re-election campaign on Saturday, and as she gears up to face off against Josh Kraft (the son of billionaire and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft) and community activist Domingos DaRosa, she’s leaning into her newfound role as a capable messenger for Democrats.
