We have a new staff member to introduce to you! Haleluya Hadero joined our team last month as our new and first-ever Black church editor, part of Christianity Today’s Big Tent initiative.
Haleluya (pronounced "hallelujah") is in the running with editor Bonnie Kristian (pronounced "Christian") as our most aptly named CT colleague. Haleluya is a more common name in Ethiopia, where her parents are from, and she said her mom was so happy to have a girl after two sons, "so she named me Haleluya."
She said her goal at CT is to pursue stories "about the Black church and Black evangelicals, reporting not just on but also for these communities" and to show "how Black Christians are navigating conversations around faith, race, politics, along with technology, business, culture, and family."
