The case for an erasable pen

NYT Wirecutter

Erasable pens have come a long way from the patchy, dry, laughably bad ones you may be familiar with. This erasable pen — the best one we’ve tested — has quick-drying ink, an easy-to-hold body, and glides across the page silkily.

And? It actually erases, working cleanly and gently without snagging or tearing the page. “Not only does it write beautifully, but it has also given me a type of freedom I’ve never known from a pen,” writes senior staff writer Elissa Sanci. “It has helped me find more joy in writing, planning, and even making mistakes.”

It makes a great gift, too (perhaps ahead of Teacher Appreciation Week?)→

Your daily deal(s): A beach towel that’s “everything a towel should be” — and more of what we’re eyeing from Brooklinen

Brooklinen Cabana Stripe Beach Towel
Brooklinen

After years of testing beach towels on Oahu’s beaches, we’d pick (and pack) this towel over any other. It’s luxurious-feeling with maxed-out softness, and features absorbent yet sand-shedding terry weave on the back. And Wirecutter readers can snag a two-pack right now for $91.

Here are a few more very good deals we’re eyeing today from Brooklinen’s sale — all rigorously tested and recommended by our experts:

  • A chic waffle robe: Our testers called wrapping up in this breezy robe “the closest we’ve come to spa-day-at-home vibes.”
  • A very fluffy comforter: This lightweight down comforter is simultaneously very warm to sleep under on a chilly night and lofty enough that you won’t overheat. In our shake tests, the smooth cotton sateen shell kept all of the down in place — no feathers flying out.
  • Very crisp sheets: Our bedding experts have long loved these crisp and cool sheets that come in a variety of fun prints. They consistently outperform in our tests — including in a recent head-to-head showdown against Quince ones.
