The Principals' Message

Happy Friday, CES Community,

Get ready, because May is practically here! These next few weeks are set to fly by, bringing us swiftly to the close of an exciting school year. Next week is packed with important events:

  • We begin with our Virtual PTA Meeting on Monday evening at 6:00 PM.
  • Tuesday promises to be a treat as Mrs. Walsh and Mrs. Tiesler present the incredible talent of our chorus in their spring concert.
  • Also starting Tuesday, we'll begin our SOL testing.
  • And tomorrow, we're incredibly proud to have some of our students participating in the Special Olympics Games!

Looking back at this past week, we had some wonderful experiences:

  • Our Green Team took an enriching trip to the George Washington Forest to release the trout they diligently raised.
  • The 4th Grade Team enjoyed a captivating performance by the National Symphony Orchestra.
  • We also had a fantastic time hosting our 'Principal for a Day' winner from the Spring Carnival, who joined the administration team on Monday!

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Screener Results Now Available

Students in grades 3-12 took the SEL Screener during the month of March, providing information on their SEL skills like achieving goals, understanding and managing emotions, establishing and maintaining relationships, and making responsible decisions. The screener also asks students how well their school community makes them feel valued, included, and supported.

Individual student SEL Screener results are now available to families in the Documents section of SIS ParentVUE. For families who do not have an active ParentVUE account, results will be sent via postal mail. For support in understanding your individual student’s results or for ideas on how to support them at home, please review the Family Guide or reach out to our school staff with any questions.
