Principal's Message 

Good afternoon Crestwood Families,

Amazing things are happening at Crestwood! A big thank you to Panda Express for their thoughtful gesture of providing lunch for our hardworking teachers during this crucial SOL testing period. It's reassuring to see that our students are diligently working through their SOLs, and now more than ever we need them here at school. 

For those wanting to check their child's SOL scores, you can do so through SIS Parent View. If you can’t access Parent View, scores will be mailed home over the summer. Finally, please note that the SOL retake window is scheduled for May 27th to May 30th, and families of eligible students will receive direct communication regarding this.

On a more exciting note, mark your calendars for a special event: the Crestwood vs. Lynbrook soccer game! This promises to be an incredible occasion, with Telemundo and NBC 4 joining us to support our schools and report on the action. Please remember to bring your own chair and join us on June 4th at Key Middle School to cheer on our amazing soccer players. 

Looking ahead, we'll also need enthusiastic volunteers for our upcoming field day on June 5th. Please contact your child’s teacher or the main office if you are interested in volunteering.

Buenas tardes familias de Crestwood,

¡Están sucediendo cosas buenas en Crestwood! Un gran agradecimiento a Panda Express por su considerado gesto de proporcionar almuerzo a nuestros dedicados maestros durante este período crucial de exámenes SOL. Es reconfortante ver que nuestros estudiantes están trabajando diligentemente en sus exámenes SOL, y ahora más que nunca los necesitamos aquí en la escuela.

Quienes deseen consultar las puntuaciones de los exámenes SOL de sus hijos pueden hacerlo a través de la Vista para Padres de SIS. Si no pueden acceder a la Vista para Padres, las puntuaciones se enviarán por correo durante el verano. Por último, tengan en cuenta que el periodo para volver a tomar los exámenes SOL está programado del 27 al 30 de mayo, y las familias de los estudiantes elegibles recibirán información directa al respecto.

Y aún más emocionante, anoten en sus calendarios un evento especial: ¡El partido de fútbol Crestwood vs. Lynbrook! Promete ser una ocasión increíble, con Telemundo y NBC 4 uniéndose a nosotros para apoyar a nuestras escuelas e informar sobre la acción. News From 6th Grade

It's hard to believe our Crestwood Owls are already preparing for the transition to middle school! To honor and celebrate this milestone, we're organizing several end-of-year activities, beginning with the 6th-grade promotion festivities. We're reaching out to our wonderful 6th-grade parents and are excited to kick off planning for the Promotion Festivities on June 9th. To make this a truly memorable and fun event for our graduating 6th graders, we need your valuable support. If you're interested in volunteering your time and ideas to help plan these celebrations, please don't hesitate to contact Jillian Hanright at jillianhanright@gmail.com. Comprehensive Boundary Review

Phase 2 Community Boundary Review Meetings

Families, staff, and community members will soon be able to explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will be accessible from the FCPS website. You are also invited to participate in another series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break.

Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.

Pre-K Program Accepting Applications for Fall

The FCPS PreK Program serves 3 and 4 year old students with a high quality, full-day preschool program with no cost to families at 78 Fairfax County elementary schools. 

Students may qualify with a variety of economic or educational risk factors. Learn more about the Pre-K and Early Head Start Program by watching this video (English) or video (Spanish).
