Grades 3-6 SOL Retakes

SOL Graphic

We wrapped up our full grade level SOL testing this week. We are so proud of our Wildcats for working so hard!

Families will be notified if your student is recommended for an expedited retake. Parent/guardian permission is required for the school to retest any elementary students in grades 3-6. Please complete the linked form to indicate your preference for retakes. https://www.fcps.edu/family-resources/technology/digital-resources/consent

You can reach out to Kelley Dauberman at krdauberman@fcps.edu about the SOL retake process.

2025-2026 Class Placement and Family Input Form

We are starting to work on our plans for the 2025-2026 school year!  Class placements are an essential component of learning and building community. If you have information that you would like us to consider as we determine placements, please share your input by answering a few questions in the attached form. We know that a good teacher-student match and a productive mix of children are ingredients for success, and we carefully consider each child’s strengths and needs during this process. Please do not request specific teachers, as this does not take into account the many variables we must take into consideration. It is far more valuable to share particular academic or behavioral information.

Completion of this form is optional. If you would like to provide input, you may use this online form or a hard copy may be sent to the office by May 23rd. This is a hard deadline.

Student pick from the prize box

Students pick from the raffle box as a part of our random attendance raffles. The catch? You have to be here to be entered in the raffle!

6th Grade Party and Promotion

We’re looking forward to celebrating our 6th graders at the end of the year! The 6th Grade Party will be on Monday, June 9th, from 1:00 to 4:00. If you're interested in helping with the party, please reach out to your child's teacher. Families of 6th graders are warmly invited to attend the 6th Grade Promotion Ceremony on Tuesday, June 10th at 2:00, followed by a light reception.

Sprinting Through Spring

Let's Finish the School Year Strong!

Student attendance at school is important all year long, up to the last day of school. Attendance has an effect on student performance and on school accreditation. See how to:

  • Check your child’s attendance record.
  • Help your student stay engaged at school.
  • Report future absences.
  • Understand the FCPS school calendar.

Learn more about attendance resources

Every day is a unique opportunity for students to learn, connect, and grow. Let's continue attending each and every school day!

Students hold stuffy's

Today's pop-up spirit day was "Stuffy Day". We loved having so many friends join us for our learning.

Phase 2 Community Boundary Review Meetings

Families, staff, and community members will soon be able to explore and visualize potential boundary scenarios using a customized Boundary Explorer Tool. The tool will be accessible from the FCPS website. You are also invited to participate in another series of community meetings in order to review and reflect on the initial draft scenarios before the start of summer break.

Each meeting will be hybrid, meaning that you may attend in person or via Zoom. Childcare for in-person participants and language interpretation/translation for all participants will be available as needed. Registration links will be shared soon. Another round of community meetings will be held in the fall.

Visit FCPS’ Comprehensive Boundary Review page for more information.
