It’s nearly summer and The Bear will soon be back on TV screens to let viewers escape from the scorching heat and chest-tightening anxiety of their daily lives to the scorching heat of a Chicago kitchen and the chest-tightening anxiety that comes with it. VF senior awards correspondent Rebecca Ford catches up with a standout from the FX series’ ensemble, Molly Gordon, who’s got a lot going on in the months to come, including the release of her romantic comedy Oh, Hi! next month and shooting her solo directorial debut, Peaked. “I feel lucky that I can create things, because what’s so hard with acting is that you have to wait for someone to go, ‘Here, you can be creative today,’” Gordon says. “With writing, every day you can wake up and have agency over your own creativity in your own life.”
