SwipeFile.com: Inspiration for your marketing.
CopywritingCourse.com: Get good at selling (join for a year, try it)!

Swipe:

Here's a video about why entrepreneur Matt Gray uses SwipeFile.com to look for ideas and get marketing inspiration:

video preview

Inspiration comes from a lot of different places like:

  • Randomly scrolling on social media.
  • X posts
  • Instagram posts
  • Blog posts
  • Billboards while driving
  • Videos you watch
  • Podcasts you listen to

....the problem is we see this stuff and FORGET IT ALL after a few minutes.

SwipeFile solves this by saving, storing, and categorizing inspiration for when you need it.

P.S. If you have suggestions for SwipeFile or want to be involved with it, let me know!

Wisdom:

Some days I wake up and I'm sort of grumpy. A great way to get back on track and happier is be happy about what you have.

I can sit in bed and say to myself positive things I currently have, generally starting from internal to external.

I might have an inner dialogue that says:

  • "I have two working hands."
  • "I have two working legs."
  • "I currently don't have any illnesses and feel good."
  • "There are a billion people that would trade their bodies for my body."
  • "I can see with my functioning eyes."
  • "I had LASIK and upgraded my eyes, and I'm happy I could afford that."
  • "I have a nice warm and clean bed I sleep in."
  • "My ancestors has only a 1,000th of the luxuries I enjoy and take for granted."
  • "I have food in my fridge."
  • "I have friends and family that love me."
  • .....and so forth.

Just being happy about allllll the tiny little things I can think of.

It really starts giving you things to be happy about.

Even doing just ONE of these exercises off this list can be great for your mood!

Interesting:

This is a really cool headline saying “We help companies find exploding trends before they take off” alongside a nice image of a product taking off after it got discovered.

I love this angle!

The value proposition it sets up is that if you pay a few hundred bucks a year to subscribe, you COULD POSSIBLY create a giant business.

Picture:

A wonderful life lesson from James Norbury’s Big Panda and Tiny Dragon and a beautiful illustration:

I've been asked where I want to live if I had a choice, and my answer is always the same:

"I want to live by my family and friends. I could live in Mobile, Alabama but be happy if all my friends & fam were nearby."

Essay:

I like this picture from Tom Pestridge that breaks down physiological triggers Starbucks uses for their different sized drinks:

Here's the different triggers at play:

1. The Decoy Effect
↳ A strategically placed middle option can make the most expensive seem like the best deal.

2. The Von Restorff Effect
↳ Writing your name wrong, makes it stand out and encourages social sharing and free advertising.

3. The Customization Effect
↳ Allowing endless small choices increases attachment and perceived control.

4. Artificial Constraints
↳ Limited-time offerings increase desire and speed up decision-making.

5. Sunk Cost Fallacy
↳ The more effort people invest, the more committed they become.

6. Status Signaling
↳ Creating visible loyalty tiers taps into pride and exclusivity.

7. Endowment Effect
↳ Writing your name on the cup creates a feeling of ownership.

8. Sensory Branding
↳ Smells, sounds, and visuals build emotional memory and comfort.

Smart marketing tactics guide almost every choice we make.

Splurge:

This is interesting: Eight Sleep is doing RENTALS with their cooling mattresses, as seen on this Instagram Ad:

Since their products can range in cost from $2,500 to $5,000 they are making this available for $219/mo to people who may not be able to afford it all at once, or for people who might want to "try it out first."

This is also interesting because they are trying to show the value of good sleep, and saying something like "Is getting great sleep worth $219/mo" is much easier than pricing it at $5,000!

Hope you enjoyed!

Sincerely,

Neville Medhora
