Dear Island Creek Families,
t's been a busy and exciting week here at Island Creek as we get ready for the final days of the 2024-2025 school year!
A huge thank you to Ms. Arslan for leading our students in a wonderful Chorus concert on Tuesday night. Another big thank you to Ms. Bae for directing the fantastic Band concert on Thursday night. Both events showcased the incredible talent of our students.
We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Barber, Mr. Magagnoli, the entire Croc Staff, and all the family and community volunteers who helped make Wednesday's Field Day such a fun and memorable event for our Crocs.
On Tuesday, we look forward to welcoming our Class of 2025 Graduates back to Island Creek and having the grads join the staff for the Staff & Grad versus 6th Grade kickball game! On Wednesday we will have our 6th Grade Promotion to congratulate our Crocs as they move on to middle school!
We appreciate your continued partnership as we wrap up a successful school year!

What a pleasure it was to see our community's twelfth-grade students graduate on Wednesday. We wish each of you all the best as you embark on your next adventures! Congratulation to Hayfield Secondary's Class of 2025!
Thank you to the Island Creek Staff, Families, and Community for supporting Field Day!

We will be sending students home with two Benchmark magazines to help them practice their reading and writing skills during the summer. You will also receive a letter from our school with weekly learning plans and activities.
Find more ways to support your child's literacy skills on FCPS’ Summer Learning Resources webpage. All of these activities are optional, but we encourage families to help their students practice reading and writing during summer break, so that they can start strong next school year.
Families are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of our sixth grade students and reflect on their time at Island Creek on Wednesday, June 11th at 9:00 a.m. Doors will open at 8:40 a.m.
Please note all adult family members must have a valid photo ID.
Students should "dress their best" in appropriate attire for this special day.
Croc Stars: Resilient
Congratulations to our Croc Stars who demonstrated the Crocs Creed character traits of being Resilient!

Attention all rising fourth, fifth and sixth grade Island Creek students and families! Now is the time to complete Electives Enrollment Forms for school year 2025-2026.
Current 3rd Grade students are eligible to participate in Strings next year and learn how to play an instrument for the first time! Each year, many 4th graders participate in the Strings program, and it’s a great way to help your child build skills such as teamwork, resiliency, and leadership!
Current 4th Grade and 5th Grade students are now registering for Band, Strings, and Chorus for next school year! In the next weeks, students will have an opportunity to see and hear instruments at the Spring Concert performances for all groups. We hope that your child will sign up now to participate in at least one of these exciting musical groups! Students may choose between Band or Strings, but all students may participate in Chorus.

The school health room is reminding parents and guardians that all medication stored in the health room must be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school (1:20). Medication left in the health room after that time will be destroyed per policy. Medication cannot be sent home with your student. If your student will be enrolled in a summer program sponsored by FCPS, the existing medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer program, but you will need to pick-up the medication before student dismissal time on the last day of school and deliver the medication and completed forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the summer program. If you have any questions, please contact the Health Room at 571-642-6310.
