Principal’s Message |
Greetings Tiger Families!
Last Saturday evening we had a joyful and star-studded Hollywood-themed 8th grade dance to send off our soon-to-be high schoolers in style. I am grateful for the generous donation of time, talent, creativity and finances by our PTA to make this a special night for our students. It is a highlight of the year not only for our students, but for our faculty and staff as we are able to be part of our students’ transition into the next stage of their educational journey. Core memories like these would not be possible without the robust partnership between school and home that are so important to us here at Twain.
In June, FCPS, and Twain, celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and Caribbean American Heritage Month. We mark the achievements of LGBTQIA+ individuals form our community and beyond as we continue to strive for a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all. Caribbean Americans represent a kaleidoscope of languages, customs, music, art and cuisine that enrich our community every day. Thank you to all Tigers for contributing to the beautiful tapestry that makes Twain.
Have a wonderful last weekend of the school year!
Sincerely,
Matt

After-School Program Survey
Below is a link for a quick survey about the Middle School After-School Program. The survey should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete. The survey is an important component of the after-school program evaluation and is critical for future funding. The more responses we receive, the more valuable and reliable the data. The responses not only allow us to assess the impact of the after-school program, but they help drive program improvement and program quality.
Thank you for completing the survey and for your support of the MS after-school program.
This survey has been approved by FCPS. 25315
Survey responses are due by June 13, 2025.

8th Grade Dance! Thank you!
On Saturday, May 31st, Mark Twain Middle School was buzzing with excitement as the 8th grade class stepped into the spotlight for "A Night in Hollywood!"
Your Mark Twain MS PTA looks forward to this treasured tradition and was proud to host the 8th Grade Dance this year. The event was a star-studded success. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves while celebrating each other at their last formal dance event as a Twain Tiger.
This event would not have been so successful without the creative and energetic minds of our 8th Grade Dance Committee, the 30+ volunteers who donated items and chaperoned on Saturday evening and our dedicated MTMS administrative team and teachers who volunteered their time.
The PTA extends a heartfelt THANK YOU! to Chick-Fil-A, Crumbl Cookie, and BJs Wholesale for their generous support, and to Aiyana Atelier for sponsoring the professional photo booth.
PTA Members check your emails this week and check out the Mark Twain MS PTA Facebook and Instagram pages to enjoy pictures from the event.
As you shop locally this summer, please give some love to our dance sponsors!
