SonarQube 2025.01 Upgrade: Changes and Information Session Invitation
SummaryDue to the migration from Amazon Linux version 2 (AL2) to Amazon Linux version 2023 (AL2023) by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), SonarQube—the automated code review and analysis tool used to detect coding issues—will be upgraded to version 2025.01 on Friday, July 26, 2025, at 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. ET. This upgrade is necessary because the current version of SonarQube is not compatible with AL2023. The new SonarQube server version will bring small, beneficial changes to Application Development Organization (ADO) environments, including an updated scanning engine, new scanning rules, minor formatting changes to vulnerability reports, and updates to available plugins. We've thoroughly tested everything and found several plugins that aren't being used, so they'll be removed in this upgrade. This means the overall impact on ADOs and the SonarQube environment will be minimal. If your organization uses SonarQube, you are invited to attend a CMS Hybrid Cloud Informational Office Hours session on Thursday, July 17, 2025, to learn more about the new benefits and changes this upgrade will bring. ActionIf you would like more information regarding the SonarQube Upgrade, please attend the Office Hours session by registering here. QuestionsIf you have specific questions or need further details please contact your Hosting Coordinator. |
