Sudoku is not just a numbers game
“People keep telling me that Sudoku isn’t a numbers game, even though it uses numbers. I’m confused. I’ve avoided it because frankly I don’t want to do math for fun. What do they mean?” — Anonymous

Sudoku is a logic game that just happens to use numbers. What does that mean? That you could take the numbers in a Sudoku board and replace them with any other set of nine things, and doing so wouldn’t change anything about the gameplay.
