General Motors has set a world record for electric-vehicle range by driving a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV Work Truck 1,059.2 miles on a single charge, surpassing the 749-mile record held by Lucid Motors. The Silverado EV used a 205-kilowatt-hour battery and underwent minor modifications for efficiency, such as a tonneau cover and maximum tire pressure. The record was achieved through optimizations that consumers could replicate, such as maintaining a steady speed, minimizing drag and turning off climate control.

Discovery's JB Perrette says HBO Max will escalate its efforts in September to prevent account sharing by moving from a month-long "soft" messaging phase to a mandatory registration process for additional account access. Corvette ZR1, ZR1X top Mustang GTD's "Green Hell" record

The Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X has become the fastest American car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, posting a lap time of 6:49.275. The ZR1 followed closely with a time of 6:50.763, and the Z06 posted 7:11.826. The track times were made with GM engineers behind the wheel and cars built to US production specs, although classified under the Prototype/Pre-Production category due to safety modifications and regional standards. The ZR1X and ZR1's performances surpass the Ford Mustang GTD's 6:52.072 lap time.
