If you haven't checked out the new season of Project Runway, now on Freeform and streaming on Hulu, it's worth your time. Heidi Klum is back to host, though Christian Siriano remains as mentor, and they've shaken up the style a bit. I don't like every change that they've made, but new judge Law Roach, who's genuinely a superstar stylist, brings the same real-world credibility that Siriano does, which puts extra pressure on the designers to perform.
This week, I watched the 2008 baseball drama Sugar, written and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck after they made Half Nelson and well before they made Captain Marvel. It's about a Dominican pitcher who enters the minor league system and ends up playing in Iowa. The story tackles the awful math of trying to make it in professional sports, but it's also a very, very good movie about the isolation this kid experiences despite the good intentions of a lot of the people he meets.
