The list of honorary pallbearers for Judge Frank Caprio is a who’s who list of names you might never have thought of together: Paula Abdul, Santita Jackson, Gene Valicenti, Ernie DiGregorio, and former State Police Colonel Brendan Doherty, to name a few.
The services for the beloved Municipal Court judge who became internationally famous late in life thanks to his syndicated TV show, “Caught in Providence,” begin tomorrow.
Caprio, who died at the age of 88 last week following a battle with pancreatic cancer, will be laid to rest on Friday with Archbishop Richard G. Henning presiding over the funeral mass at Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul in Providence. The procession will travel up Atwells Avenue on its way to St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston for a private burial.
Visiting hours are scheduled for 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Rhode Island Convention Center, and there will be free parking at both the North Garage of the convention center and at the Providence Place Mall.
