at Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center
For ages 2-4
A fun, history-filled program at the Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center where participants will explore one object from our exhibits or collections and do an activity and/or game, sing a song, do a craft and read a story—all connected to the featured object or its related themes.
September 3, 10 a.m.: Space
September 17, 10 a.m.: Dairy
This program is suitable for ages 2-4 yrs.
FREE. Registration is required. All registered participants must be accompanied by an adult. Register
September 23 at Historic Blenheim
For ages 8-12
Join the staff at Historic Blenheim on this school day out to solve a history-related mystery! Participants will find clues, solve puzzles, explore the grounds and historic house, all while learning different intelligence and spy techniques across the eras of Fairfax History.

NEW TRAVELING EXHIBIT
At Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center
Virginia & the Vietnam War will explore the choices, perspectives, and experiences of Virginians during the Vietnam War era to help facilitate untapped understandings about this tumultuous time. The Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center will be displaying this traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture from September 15 - October 27. The museum is open Wednesdays through Mondays, 11 am - 4 pm; closed on Tuesdays.
Save the Date: October 4
 Come play baseball the old-fashioned way—while a live band sets the tempo of the 1800s! Learn about the early history of baseball and play a real baseball game with 1800’s rules and equipment while the 8th Green Machine Band from George Mason University plays 19th century music. There will be seats available for spectators to view the game as well.
