Susan Monarez, the first Senate-confirmed director of the CDC, has been ousted after just a month on the job, according to a former U.S. health official with knowledge of the matter.
News of the ouster on Wednesday came on the same day that another high-ranking official, Jennifer Leyden, who oversaw the agency’s data and surveillance efforts, left the CDC, the person said.
