The U.S. Census Bureau released the first version of the 2030 Census Operational Plan, along with an interactive tool for exploring it. This plan documents the initial, high-level design for the next census, outlining the breadth of work needed to conduct and support a quality population and housing count. Future iterations of the plan will describe the work in more detail.
Alongside declining survey response rates, we’ve seen a surge of digital data that can be used to supplement or even replace existing survey collections.
Acting Director Ron Jarmin describes how the Census Bureau is tapping into these new data sources in this blog.
The U.S. Census Bureau has released preliminary estimates from the Annual Integrated Economic Survey (AIES), which provides key measures of economic activity, including the only comprehensive national and subnational data on business revenues, expenses and assets on an annual basis.
The AIES is one of the Census Bureau’s newest surveys, designed to replace and integrate seven different annual business surveys into a single survey.
