Former Major League Baseball player Mark Teixeira announced that he’s running as a Republican for a House seat in Texas and is echoing President Donald Trump’s agenda in his campaign launch. Teixeira, 45, is running for the seat currently held by Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, who recently announced that he plans to run for Texas attorney general.
