Report: Tech tiers tell the tale of connected consumers
PYMNTS' recent "How People Pay: Consumer Preference for Connected Technology" report reveals that while most US households own multiple connected devices, consumers fall into three groups based on how deeply they engage with tech. Basic Tech users (41%) favor essentials, Mainstream Tech users (49%) embrace more devices and online shopping, and Connected Tech enthusiasts (10%) integrate a wide array of smart gadgets into daily life. Younger generations, especially millennials and those in-between generations, are far more likely than baby boomers to be heavy adopters, using multiple devices and digital payment methods that are increasingly shaping shopping habits, with income also being a key factor in the divide.

Apple is partnering with TuneIn to make its six curated radio stations available globally on connected cars and home speakers, reaching TuneIn's 75 million monthly users. The move is part of the tech giant's efforts to convert listeners into Apple Music subscribers as the service's market share has dropped to 25% in the US and 12% globally amid Spotify's growth.
