I am flying today, so taking a break from politics—I kinda need it, maybe you do, too. There’s a lot of nasty stuff going down that I will write about tomorrow. On my flight right now, I am watching the movie Lincoln again. What a fantastic movie, and reminds me how so much of our politics now are an extension of the Civil War. As I headed to the subway, I heard music and it took me a few moments to find out where it was coming from. This young man was playing his acordian in the middle of Broadway. The street in that area has places for pedestrians and plants…and orange plastic traffic things to sit. As I arrived at my stop further uptown and made my way to the stairs (it’s an elevated stop), I looked up and saw these beautiful old green pipes and metal structures. Look at that detail. High up on the platform of the subway stop, the view is nice. I saw a lone, but proud, watertower. Emerging on Tenth Avenue, I saw a man hosing the sidewalk in front of what I assume might be his restaurant, next to the beautiful old subway entrance. The subway stops in upper Manhattan have such great detail that is forgotten to time. Thanks for being here, see you tomorrow from Los Angeles!
