Montreal-based luxury fashion retailer SSENSE is applying for bankruptcy protection, The Gazette's Leora Schertzer reports.
In an email to staff, CEO Rami Atallah partly attributed the move to "increased trade pressures." This includes the recent elimination of the U.S. de minimis exemption, which allowed international goods under $800 to cross the border duty-free.
