 Check out antiques, classics, foreign cars, customs, street rods, muscle cars, trucks, motorcycles, and more from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 1. The event includes a kids' area and food vendors. Admission is free. All proceeds support local charities. The show is made possible by the City of Fairfax and the Clifton Lions Club. Learn more.

No collection: Monday and Tuesday routes are collected on Tuesday, Sept. 2
- Curbside yard waste collection delay possible
- Collecting multiple days' worth of debris (yard waste, brush, metals, etc.) on a single day may cause atypical delays in collection throughout the city. If these items are not collected on the scheduled collection day, please leave items at the curb and they will be collected as soon as possible.

City Council Work Session, Sept. 2.

A city council work session is slated for 7 p.m. Sept. 2. The tentative agenda is listed below (subject to change).
- Joint discussion with the City of Fairfax School Board on the school bond and renovation timeline.
- Pre-application briefing on Fairfax Square.
- Presentation on development proffers - overview and school-specific.
- FY 2025 Carryover request/reappropriation to FY 2026 for all funds.
Meetings are held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights in City Hall. Watch meetings live on Channel 12 (COX/Verizon) and online, or catch a replay at 10 a.m. or 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Visit the city meetings website.
Voting Information for Sept. 9 Special Election
A special election for the U.S. House of Representatives 11th District will be held Sept. 9. Polls will be open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- All absentee ballot applications must be submitted to the City of Fairfax Office of Elections by 5 p.m. Aug. 29.
- Fairfax City Hall is open for early voting 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30.
- Voters who wish to register to vote in the Special Election and/or update voter registration information must do so by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, in person or by 11:59 p.m. online. Mail registration must be postmarked by Tuesday, Sept. 2.
