Hey,

Just dropped a new video walking through the Ruled Surface command in Fusion 360.

It’s in the Surface workspace, and honestly — it’s one of those tools that sounds boring but ends up being super useful once you know how it works.

What it does:
Lets you extend a surface from an edge — with full control over angle, direction, and distance.

Why it matters:

  • You can add draft to a surface without sketching
  • Clean up messy imports
  • Patch weird edges
  • Avoid a ton of manual surfacing pain

The video shows all 3 options (Normal, Tangent, and Direction), plus a couple gotchas to watch for — like why everything selects at once (hint: uncheck Chain Selection).
