Dear Terraset Families,

We hope you enjoyed the beautiful summer-like weekend and are refreshed for our full week of learning this week. Be sure to mark your calendars for this Wednesday, October 8th for Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day!  If your child/ren is biking or riding, please make sure they wear a helmet. Also, younger students should have an adult accompany them along their route. This celebration promotes healthy physical activity and promotes safe routes to school. We would like to thank our amazing PTO for providing 2 new bike racks for our students!

On Thursday, our classes will engage in an immersive school-wide STEAM experience with Baking Soda Rocket Day! Terraset was generously given materials to build and launch 17 bottle rockets by Arm & Hammer, whose goal is to launch the most baking soda rockets in one day! Be sure to check out the highlights on our Instagram and Facebook pages for amazing photos.

This Friday, we hope to see you represent Terraset in orange at the South Lakes High School Homecoming Parade! We will meet at Hunters Woods Shopping Center at 4:30 and the parade will start at 5:00 pm. All students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Families are encouraged to join!

And finally, we would like to share our current chronic absenteeism rate. We are currently at 6.1%, which is down from 6.9% around this time last year. Way to go families! Our goal is to stay below 10% all year. Every day that we partner together to keep chronic absenteeism down, we provide all Tigers with the environment to succeed.

Yours in partnership,

Katie Aldridge, Principal

Dave Ickowski, Assistant Principal
