Friday Breakfast Station
The PTSA organizes a weekly Friday Breakfast Station during the year stocked with contributions by fellow McLean HS families. The Friday Breakfast Station is set up in the front office and teachers & staff are grateful each week for your donations. PTSA Appreciates McLean High School’s Custodians!
Last week, the PTSA hosted two catered meals for the custodians for Custodian Appreciation Day (October 1). A yummy lunch was served for the custodians at school during the day. A delicious dinner was served for the custodians at school during the evening. The meals were catered by Listrani's McLean and included desserts/drinks. The PTSA, through the Hospitality Committee, supports staff throughout the year by planning appreciation events such as these Custodian Appreciation meals.

Mock Testing - SAT and ACT
Looking for an opportunity to practice for the SAT and ACT? The McLean PTSA is partnering with The Princeton Review and Marigold Prep to offer practice tests. Each testing session starts at 9am. The test dates are as follows:
SAT : November 15, 2025; January 10, 2026; April 11, 2026, July 18, 2026
ACT : October 25, 2025; February 28, 2026; April 25, 2026
Join us virtually to take the full-length practice tests. The registration fee is $20 per exam.

Registration closes 3 days prior to each exam, and you will receive an email with further instructions regarding the testing session. After each test, you will receive a comprehensive score report detailing your strengths and weaknesses.

Pink Out the Gym - 10/16
McLean vs. Herndon Volleyball Dig Pink Game
The McLean Girls Volleyball team is calling on our community to help "PINK OUT THE GYM" on October 16 and raise awareness for breast cancer! This event is more than just a game—it's an opportunity for our community to come together, learn about a serious health risk, and support our student athletes. Bring your family and friends, wear your pink, and enjoy Freshman, JV, and Varsity girls volleyball along with fun and "fun"draising activities throughout the evening, including a bake sale. Let's fill the stands and show our support! Games start at 4:45 pm, 6 pm, and 7 pm.
Fulfill Service Requirements
Bright Beats – Calling Student Volunteers & Leaders!
Bright Beats is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing music and joy to children with special needs through interactive sessions. They are seeking MHS student volunteers to help lead sing-alongs, rhythm games, and instrument play. No music/instrument experience needed - training will be provided. Students can earn service hours and build leadership skills while making a real impact in the community.
Leadership Opportunities:
In addition to volunteering, students can take on leadership roles as a chapter lead or on the executive team, helping coordinate events, recruit volunteers, and design future programs.

Donation Needed for Food Programs
McLean Pantry
At McLean High School, teachers, student volunteers, and parents have come together to help combat hunger among students! The newly established McLean Pantry is currently collecting individually packaged food items, such as shelf-stable milk cartons, cups of noodles, and more. Food For Neighbors Red Bag Program
Please become a Food For Neighbors Red Bag Donor.
Once you sign-up, FFN will send you a reminder one week prior to the scheduled pickup (March, May, September, November and January). FFN donations are tax-deductible; FFN will provide donation confirmation.

Reflections Art Competition
The Theme for the 2025 - 2026 School Year is: "I Belong!".
Students can submit theme-based artwork in dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, or visual arts.
Submission guidelines can be found here in English and Spanish. You can also find the entry form with rules for submission categories here and submission entry forms in English and Spanish are available. Submissions are due by Friday, November 14th.
