At the October 6 school board meeting, Acting Superintendent Dan Phillips presented the proposed FY 2027–2031 Capital Improvement Plan totaling $205 million. The plan includes ongoing maintenance projects—like painting, paving, and carpet to tile replacement, —and new investments, including field replacements at Fairfax High School and the renovations to our two elementary schools. The Board will hold a public hearing and take action on November 3.

The Fairfax City Council approved contracts with Moseley, Incorporated and Architecture, Incorporated to begin design and engineering work for renovationsat Daniels Run and Providence Elementary Schools at their September 9 meeting. This is the first step toward creating modern, safe, and inspiring spaces for our students. Community engagement meetings will begin later this year.

Fairfax County Public Schools will host a boundary review meeting for the Woodson and Fairfax pyramids on Tuesday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Fairfax High School. While City students attend City schools per the School Services Agreement, any county boundary changes could impact our school communities, so we encourage residents to attend and stay informed.
