After years of searching and an eviction that forced some residents to sleep in the forest, managers at the Ricochet Centre thought they had finally found an ideal spot in Pierrefonds-Roxboro for the West Island's only homeless shelter.
There were few complaints, The Gazette's René Bruemmer reports, until September, when a sudden flurry of concerns raised by homeowners and institutions coincided with news Ricochet was planning to purchase the property and expand its mandate.
