Hachette Book Group’s acquisition of Union Square and a bevy of bestsellers helped the publisher boost Q3 sales by 12.5%. President Donald Trump has refiled his disparagement lawsuit against Penguin Random House and the New York Times, after his first filing was swiftly dismissed by a federal judge. A “gender-critical” essay collection has been returned to the National Library of Scotland’s centenary display after an independent review found that its removal was based on “inadequate evidence,” reports BBC. HBG Notches Strong Third Quarter Sales
Contributions from the Union Square acquisition plus solid showings from new releases resulted in a 12.5% increase in Q3 sales at Hachette Book Group. Through the first nine months of 2025, HBG’s sale were up 9.1% compared to 2024, and sales for the entire Lagardère Publishing group, of which HBG is a part, rose 4.1%, to €2.16 billion. more »
