Students playing rock, paper, scissors

Oak View Families,

What a week for our Eagles!

We kicked off the week with a joyful School-wide Morning Meeting, and the excitement was contagious! The students’ faces lit up when they learned we’d be playing a whole-school game of Rock, Paper, Scissors—it was an absolute blast!

Our PE team also deserves a standing ovation for organizing a phenomenal Field Day! Field Day wouldn’t have been possible without our incredible parent volunteers—thank you for your time, enthusiasm, and support in making the day such a success!

We know how important academic learning is, but we also recognize that the moments students remember most are the fun ones—celebrations, teamwork, and shared joy with friends. Thank you for helping us create those experiences that our students will treasure for years to come.

Finally, a quick reminder that both the Robinson and Woodson Homecoming Parades are tonight! Ms. Luerssen will be representing Oak View in the Robinson Parade alongside the pyramid principals—be sure to give a big shout-out if you’re along the parade route!

As a reminder, all schools and offices will be closed on Monday as we observe Diwali.

Your Proud Principals,

Ms. Luerssen, Ms. Hanson & Ms. Adams

Invitational Science Fair Information Meeting

Students in grades 5 and 6 are invited to participate in a research project of their choice and present it in-person at a science fair in April at the 13th Annual Invitational Science Fair at TJ.

The first interest/information session for prospective students and their parents is October 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and virtually through Zoom. During this session, we will go over the goals and guidelines of the fair and introduce students to a multitude of project ideas. See Friday Folders for more information. All interested students should sign up using the form at the link: https://tinyurl.com/TJISOinterest2526

Storybook Pumpkin Festival

All students are invited to celebrate great books by decorating pumpkins as storybook characters. Pumpkins will be displayed in the display case outside the library and on top of the library shelves from October 14-31. Pumpkins can be dropped off at the library on any day during that window. On October 31, students can pick up their pumpkins or ask their friendly librarian to make them disappear. Find out more information by visiting our Storybook Pumpkin website.
