The Central Board of Trustees has revised Employees' Provident Fund Organisation rules. New regulations have changed EPF withdrawal limits and minimum balance requirements. Premature final settlement periods have been extended significantly. These changes aim to streamline processes and enhance retirement corpus accumulation. However, some critics argue the new rules restrict access to personal funds.
Silver prices have surged to record highs, exceeding $51 per ounce, leading to supply shortages in London. It has also impacted Indian mutual funds with Kotak Mutual Fund, UTI Mutual Fund, SBI Mutual Fund and ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund stopping fresh lump sum subscriptions to their Silver ETF Fund of Fund (FoF).
LIC new policies: Life Insurance Corporation of India has introduced two new insurance plans. The LIC Jan Suraksha Plan is designed for lower-income individuals, offering life cover and maturity benefits. The LIC Bima Lakshmi Plan is exclusively for women, providing life cover, periodic money-back options, and critical illness coverage. These are LIC's first products launched under the new GST regime.
