Upcoming opportunities from Transformative Changes
Transformative Changes is a healing justice organization with a mission to defy the status quo by using healing-centered engagement, culturally grounded creative organizing, and justice as tools to center the leadership and development of Black and Brown communities—especially young people—as agents in the creation of their own well-being within the social justice movement.
We are currently launching two major initiatives:
1. Safe and Restorative Schools Learning Tour
In partnership with New Virginia Majority, The Commonwealth Institute, Legal Aid Justice Center, and the Fund Our Schools Coalition, we have launched the Safe and Restorative Schools Learning Tour, a project of the Black Youth Mental Health Collaborative. The tour brings together students, community leaders, and lawmakers to have honest conversations about what safety and belonging truly mean.
Instead of lectures or panels, we host Restorative Healing Circles—open spaces for listening, sharing stories, and building understanding around restorative practices, school-based mental health, and community involvement in schools. The tour will engage Black youth across Northern Virginia, Richmond, Southwest, and Hampton Roads, with participating youth receiving a $100 stipend.
