I remember throwing up in the gym shower at my first ever PT job.
"whoa wtf man are you okay?!" - another PT
I told him how I read that some lifters put salt in their pre-workout shake for better pumps.
Apparently 1 TEASPOON was good.
So, 2 TABLESPOONS (6x more) must be even better, right?
Puke fest in 3 minutes.
Keep in mind, I was around 155 pounds at this point.
This other PT, who became my first mentor, told me something that stuck with me:
"Do you really think it's the salt in the shake that made those guys jacked?
Or is it a decade of hard, consistent workouts while eating enough to support gains...
quit worrying about shit that doesn't matter."
That advice hits hard.
I love to overthink. Every nitty-gritty detail.
But most of that is just neurotic, mental masturbation, fear of missing out, and anxiety.
It feels good to avoid the real, meaningful, but hard work.
Big rocks, right?
80% of the results you get come from just 20% of the things you do.
So if you're not even tracking your workouts, or pushing hard consistently...
you have no business worrying about sodium and supplements.
Here's my challenge to you:
This week, nail the basics.
Forget about everything else.
Talk soon, Matteo
PS: I want to work with 2 more guys who are ready to transform their physique this year.
Building muscle, getting lean.
