Dear Beech Tree Families,
Fact of the Day: Not sure if you all are aware or not, but it is almost November. I did not realize this until last night. I guess November comes after October this year. Who knew!?
We are pleased to announce that this year's Book Fair has netted Beech Tree almost $1,600. We met our goal and are so thankful to all of you for your support. Our county’s literacy rates thank you too! And a special thanks to Melissa Swope, our Book Fair Chair. Please take a bow (and relax with a nice new book). You earned it!
Now we need your help to support what is usually one of the PTA’s biggest fund raisers of the year, the Election Day Bake Sale on Tuesday November 4th. We need treats and we need people. We accept all kinds of both. Bring your kids. Bring your muffins. Bring your cookies and your brownies. We will let you leave with only one of those though. Trick question: Do you like pizza? Italian food? Greek food? Burgers? If you don’t, why not? This makes no sense! Our next Restaurant Day is coming up on Wednesday November 12th and Anthony’s Restaurant has something for all of you, even those who don’t like pizza, though I can’t be sure that constituency really exists. Anthony’s has graciously offered to donate 10% of all sales all day (to-go and in-person) to the PTA. Come join us!
With all these exciting ways to help out our school, we want to take a minute to remind you why we fundraise. So far this year, we have been able to provide Beech Tree with:
- New recess equipment
- New books for 2 classroom book clubs
- Multiplication flash cards for an entire classroom
- New recorders for all 3rd graders (you’re welcome)
- And equipment to build an innovative year-long science game for 5th graders
We also support teachers with luncheons, transportation for field trips, and more! We love taking your money but we love giving it back to the school even more!
A couple of upcoming events we want to flag, and then we will get out of your hair:

- Our next PTA meeting will be Thursday November 13th at 6:30pm at the James Lee Community Center (2855 Annandale Rd, Falls Church, VA 22042)
Finally, the PTA partners with givebacks. We earn donations when our supporters shop online. Here are instructions about downloading the extension to make giving a snap!
