Assuming Congress doesn't extend the higher subsidies to buy insurance on the individual marketplace, monthly premiums will roughly double next year for people in Colorado who received them. 

Two things influence how much insurance in the individual market will cost: how expensive insurers think it will be to cover the group, and how much customers receive to subsidize their premiums. It's too late to change the underlying costs, but Congress still could extend the higher subsidies.

Time is running short there, too, though. Open enrollment starts Saturday, and people who want coverage starting in January have to pick a plan by Dec. 15.
