Amazon announced the elimination of 14,000 corporate positions, representing about 5% of its white-collar workforce, as part of a broader restructuring effort. The layoffs could eventually reach 30,000 roles. CEO Andy Jassy has stated that AI, especially generative AI, will transform the work Amazon does, reducing the need for many current roles while shifting demand to new positions. Tasks previously handled by analysts, coordinators, and middle managers are increasingly being automated, demonstrating how AI is actively displacing traditional corporate jobs at scale.

Workers comp sees rise in mental health claims
Workers' compensation claims for mental injuries present unique challenges due to their subjective nature, unlike physical injuries. Gen Z seeks digital-first benefits education
Generation Z employees often struggle to understand employee benefits, with 30% not enrolling due to confusion, according to Principal Financial Group. While 50% of Gen Z turn to social media for information, 83% want more comprehensive enrollment details. Principal suggests employers use digital tools and peer-based recommendations to engage Gen Z, who prioritize financial wellness and mental health benefits.

Don't assume your new-to-the-workforce employees understand the process of open enrollment. Many parents didn't walk their kids through this. I did talk to my children about it, but even then, they had more questions -- really good ones. This generation is eager to do things right and is thinking long term. Many, though, aren't sure how to set themselves up for it. Webinars and 1:1 meetings will help a ton. -- Kanoe

(Kanoe Namahoe)
It appears that I was the only person in the country who did not see the Dodgers beat the Blue Jays last night in Game 3 of the World Series. I heard about Freddie Freeman's walk-off home run in the 18th inning during a morning meeting. When I admitted I hadn't seen the game, it was as if tomatoes were growing out of my head. Even I was a bit disgusted with myself.

You can bet I won't make that mistake tonight. What about you? Who do you have in the series? Tell me!

Do you enjoy this brief? Share it with others. Want different stories? Something about it bug you? Tell me. In the words of Frasier Crane, “I’m listening.”
