Spotlight - Justin Belcher
Justin’s career has been defined by spotting opportunities early and helping businesses scale. He began his career in PR for international firms before moving into technology, joining a start-up that built one of the first web-based mortgage systems. That venture quickly became the market leader and was acquired, sparking a path that included launching his own fintech, supporting wealthtech scale-ups as an independent consultant, and later running a sports apparel company born out of his passion for cycling.
For more than a decade, Justin worked as a consultant in London’s fintech sector, supporting founders with strategy, digital transformation, and market positioning. He helped wealth managers adopt digital change, always with a focus on making companies appear bigger, stronger, and more competitive than their size might suggest.
Now part of Innovate UK as an Innovation and Growth Specialist, Justin brings that same commercial mindset to businesses across Wales. He focuses on fintech, digital business models, and marketing, with a particular talent for helping companies “punch above their weight.” Beyond work, he’s a committed cyclist, having raced nationally, managed amateur teams, and trained with the discipline and focus that mirrors his professional approach.
