An Arvada man will spend 12 years in jail after he took a deal and pleaded guilty in a fatal Aurora hit-and-run on Interstate 225 last year, according to court records.

“Government should have to do this in a way that’s transparent and above board — and includes the public in this kind of decision-making,” former Lakewood City Councilwoman Anita Springsteen said.
