Taipei, Taiwan, November 3, 2025 -QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking and storage solution innovator, today released the [2] TL-R6020Sep-RP, a 4U 60-bay high-density SAS/SATA JBOD expansion enclosure. Optimized for petabyte-scale storage, the TL-R6020Sep-RP enables enterprises to cost-effectively scale their storage infrastructure for cold data, video surveillance, big data, and multimedia archiving applications.
The TL-R6020Sep-RP provides four high-speed Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8644) ports with SAS 12Gb/s bandwidth and Broadcom® SAS DataBolt™ technology for bandwidth optimization. With its dual-path redundant design, system operation continues uninterrupted even if one cable fails. By supporting daisy-chaining of up to four* enclosures (240 drives total), the TL-R6020Sep-RP allows seamless capacity expansion up to 4PB** raw storage. By adding SAS expansion cards to the NAS and connecting to the TL-R6020Sep-RP, users can distribute the bandwidth load caused by large numbers of drives and further improve overall performance.
“With growing volumes of surveillance and big data, enterprises need storage expansion that is both scalable and reliable,” said Waterball Liu, Product Manager of QNAP. “The TL-R6020Sep-RP delivers petabyte-level capacity in a 4U chassis with flexible daisy-chaining, helping organizations meet future storage demands with confidence, while effectively reducing operational costs. As the preferred enterprise-grade ZFS storage solution, QuTS hero NAS offers multi-layered data protection along with advanced services such as real-time compression and deduplication, further unleashing the potential of PB-scale capacity.”
Key Features of the TL-R6020Sep-RPHigh-density efficiency:Significantly reduces rack space usage, weight, and power consumption, while meeting long-term and large-scale expansion needs.Petabyte-scale capacity:Up to 60 x SAS/SATA HDDs in a single 4U chassis, supporting over 1PB** effective capacity.Flexible scalability:Daisy-chain up to four* units with multipath redundancy for 4PB** of raw capacity.Broadcom® SAS DataBolt™ optimization:Aggregates dual 6Gb/s signals into a 12Gb/s stream for faster data throughput.Easy maintenance:Supports hot-swappable fans and power supplies, optimized for 1000mm-deep racks with built-in rail kits. Front-panel indicators display the status of 60 drives, combined with swappable drive trays and six cooling fans. With a chassis depth of only 750mm, it is easier to deploy and maintain.Seamless integration and data protection:Manage JBOD and all drives via QNAP NAS Storage & Snapshots Manager, supporting QuTS hero h5.2.0 or later. Combined with ZFS, it offers real-time compression, deduplication, and self-healing mechanisms to ensure the integrity and reliability of PB-scale storage.
