The re-elected mayor of Montreal’s St-Laurent borough, Alan DeSousa, says there is new hope the federal government will choose the lands north of the Montreal-Trudeau International Airport as the site of a new national urban park.
Conservationists say it is the last significant undeveloped area on the island, providing habitat to several endangered or threatened species, such as the monarch butterfly, reports The Gazette's Michelle Lalonde.
