What do Mark Kelly, James Comey and Letitia James have in common? They're among at least 470 people, organizations and institutions that Reuters has identified as targets of President Trump's second‑term "retribution" campaign, in which perceived enemies are punished or pressured through orders, investigations, firings and funding decisions.
For this investigation, my colleagues built a "retribution tracker". Read about how they reviewed hundreds of official documents and contacted those named, finding that about half the targets were singled out individually while the rest were swept up in broader purges of perceived enemies.
