Don't forget to fill out your 2026 outcome questionnaire! The questionnaire will only take a few minutes of your time and will be a huge help to us as we plan future programs.

55+ Center Holiday Closures:

  • Wednesday, December 24: Centers close at 1 p.m.

  • Thursday, December 25: Centers closed all day

  • Friday, December 26: Centers closed all day

  • Wednesday, December 31: Centers close at 5 p.m.

  • Thursday, January 1: Centers closed all day

Check with your 55+ center director for specific program schedules.

 


New Year's Eve Celebration

Don't Forget to Sign Up for the New Year's Eve Celebration!

Wed., Dec. 31, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lyon Park Community Center. Cost: $35

Social Fun at Arlington Mill

Supper Club

Join us for a joyful intergenerational gathering where teens and adults 55+ come together to celebrate the holiday season with classic Bingo fun! Volunteer Opportunities at Aurora Hills

Volunteers are needed to support the front desk at Aurora Hills on Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. A volunteer leader is also needed for the French Conversation group on Mondays, 1-2 p.m.

Teen and senior exercise

The Amazing Walk

Wed., Dec. 17, 5-6 p.m. at Arlington Mill

Join 55+ Center Director Mona Farah for an intergenerational event that brings together older adults and teens for a fun walking challenge. Walk laps around the gym and stop at stations along the way to complete challenges like stretching, solving puzzles and more. The first to finish wins a prize! Open to teens ages 11-17 and adults ages 55 and over: no 55+ Pass required. Register: #912106-13


New! Spanish for Beginners and Beyond

Thurs., Dec. 18, 1-2 p.m. Virtual

Looking to practice your Spanish in a fun and supportive environment? Join Lubber Run 55+ Center Director and fluent Spanish speaker Ashley Gomez for a series of classes open to all experience levels. Sessions focus on building everyday vocabulary, practicing conversational phrases and exploring Spanish-speaking cultures in a relaxed, welcoming space. Register: #912650-02


Dance group

Third Act Dance Ensemble

Wednesdays, Dec. 10-March 4, 1:30-3 p.m. at Walter Reed

Cost: $99

Love to dance? Third Act meets weekly to learn an original piece of choreography, rehearse it, and showcase it for the community. Everyone is encouraged to attend, from those new to dance to those who began dancing as children. The only requirement is a love of movement and a willingness to perform. Instructor: Reena Sarai. Open Office Hour with Ashley

Join Lubber Run’s 55+ Center Director Ashley Gomez for open office hours, where you can share your ideas, ask questions and discuss programs.
