Practice Schedule for the Week
Coaches have the right to adjust the schedule as they see fit, so make sure you are getting whatever communication comes from your program. Many of our programs have varying time schedules for practice as all our programs work together to maximize practice space and utilize our facilities equally.
Booster Club Update
Our Booster Club Board is small but mighty! We can use all the help, so if you are interested in supporting our student athletes and the Boosters efforts, let us know and we can get you connected. There are plenty of opportunities to help and even if you think your skillset is not useful, we can find a way to make it useful!
The Booster Club handles all things concessions which is the single largest source of income for our athletics budget. FCPS does not supply a yearly budget, so outside of buses and officials, we have to fundraise for everything else. The Boosters and their efforts, allow us the ability to purchase all the things that our student athletes need and want. Some of their recent purchases include the windscreens around our facilities, the baseball turtle and supporting our youth clinics.

Athletes of the Week

We were fortunate to have an incredible number of our student athletes represent Hayfield and Hawk Pride on their respective All National District teams. See them all here - Hawks on the All National District Teams, Hawks on the All Occoquan Region Teams and Hawks on All State
Kudos to all of our amazing student athletes that competed this Fall and to all our amazing student athletes that spent the past week trying out for Winter teams! We look forward to seeing you all compete on the mats, in the pools, on the track and on the courts!
Notes From Our Programs
We are beyond proud of our Fall athletes - especially those that embraced the student part of the student athlete. You can see that we have had a lot of success in the classroom as well already this year!

Stay tuned for Amazon wish lists for all our programs in the near future. We have requests from the community to provide ways that our programs can be supported in small, subtle ways. All programs that would like to be involved and included will be tasked with providing a link to their wish list to provide to the community.
Boys Volleyball Fundraiser
With the conclusion of our second year of HS Boy’s Volleyball, we appreciate you all coming and supporting the boys!
As we enter the off season, we are planning and prepping for next season and have a few fundraisers lined up. Our first one, we are partnering with Chipotle for a Taco Tuesday Fundraiser on December 9th from 5-9pm at the Kingstowne Center Chipotle. Use code NNKHVEA when ordering through the app.
Dining in and Pick-up orders count towards the fundraiser (if you deliver or use a different app, it will not count). Check out more information in the flyer attached, spread the word, and thank you for your on-going support!

Boys and Girls Basketball Give Back
Wanted to share a message from Ms. Leia Towe, one of the founders of CTAB about a partnership with our basketball teams:
On behalf of Cross-Training Athletes into Believers (CTAB), I want to extend our deepest gratitude for your incredible partnership in this year’s Thanksgiving Drive. Together, CTAB and Hayfield High School raised over 100 complete Thanksgiving baskets, allowing us to provide meals, and hope, to families served by the Bridges to Independence facility. For those who may be newer to our mission, CTAB Hoops has been serving the Northern Virginia community for more than a decade, and this marks our 10th year organizing Thanksgiving support for families in need. What began as a small effort has grown into a powerful annual tradition, one that continues to uplift families and teach our youth the value of service, compassion, and community.
This year, Hayfield’s involvement made a tremendous impact. Your willingness to jump in, rally your teams, and give generously helped us surpass our goal and ensured that more families could experience warmth and dignity this holiday season. We are sincerely grateful.
As we look ahead, we hope this partnership is just the beginning. CTAB is excited about the possibility of continuing to build with Hayfield for years to come, expanding our outreach, increasing our impact, and creating even more opportunities for our young people to serve and lead.
Thank you again for your heart, your support, and your commitment to community. Together, we made a difference, and we look forward to doing even more in the future.
Coach Drickey’s Thoughts and Ramblings
I urge you to take advantage of our Booster Club passes and gain entrance to all home regular season contests for the price of your membership. With that in mind, the expectation is that fans are coming to support and cheer for our team and our students, while making sure that we don’t make negative comments to officials or our opponents.
We are excited for our student athletes to demonstrate their success on the field and excel in the classroom, as we chase district, region, and state championships. Our goal is to make Hayfield THE school in Northern Virginia, Virginia proper and the entire country.
Fall pictures have been released to us and are ready for purchase. If you have any questions, please contact sports@vosphoto.com and they will be happy to answer your questions.
Back to a weekly quote after a week to highlight those that I am thankful for, and this one comes from Jack Dempsey, former boxing champion, “A champion is someone who gets up when he can’t.” Part of that is grit and determination, but the other part is relying upon and accepting support from teammates, coaches and others. Athletes, that means you must be willing to lean on your teammates, coaches, parents or friends as much as those people need to be willing to provide support! Our goal is to make every student feel supported, cherished and seen. We will continue to make that our goal and mission!
We look forward to our athletes, coaches and supporters winning on the field, courts, mats, track and in the pools, and in the classroom with class and HAWK PRIDE!
