It’s been a challenging year for public media: we were the subject of a congressional hearing, an executive order and rescission of federal funding. Yet we brought you pressing news updates, separated fact from fiction and delivered journalism that changed the world:
The California Newsroom, a collaboration of more than a dozen public media organizations, provided life-saving information to Californians during the January wildfires. They maintained an FAQ page and sent daily emails with the latest news, forecasts, fact-checks, resources and ways neighbors could help one another.
Without federal funding, public media is stretching our resources as far as we can. Support from people like you makes it possible for our newsrooms to conduct collaborative and investigative work, serving communities that lack other trusted news sources.
