Illinois Democrats applaud as Indiana Senate rebuffs President Trump’s push for new map

The heavily Republican-led Indiana Senate on Thursday rejected a mid-decade redistricting plan aimed at giving the state two additional GOP U.S. House members in a sharp rebuke to President Donald Trump’s pressure to maintain a congressional majority in next year’s midterm elections.
