I’ve been hurt. I’ve been knocked down. I’ve cried.
To be human is to know the magic of Springtime, the blessing of birdsong and the joy of being in love.
And to be alive is also to endure suffering, face pain and experience tragedy. Yes, dear Test, we all hurt, at various points along our journey.
There is much beauty in our world today. Disbelieve all the pundits who suggest it’s all bad. And yet I must agree, this period is one of intense complexity. And a ton of mess.
As far as I can tell, with a lot of life under my belt, the way to do it is to savor the summers of your life and use the winters to heal and expand and evolve and grow.
If you’re hurting today, may I humbly and gently encourage you to:
…stay in the sadness or fear so in this unusual acceptance of what is, these emotions begin to release. And leave your system. [To heal a wound one must feel the wound!].
…exploit the hardship you are facing to make you wiser, stronger and more resilient in the future.
…leverage this time to read profound books, journal, meditate, walk alone in the woods and pray to your higher power—so the suffering becomes your greatness.
…trust that you are not alone. That you are not being broken but, instead, are being beautifully blessed. That your future is so much brighter than your ego is arguing for.
In one of the darkest times of my life Test, a good and kind mentor simply said “Robin, this too shall pass.” And it did.
Let’s go deeper. A bad day for the ego is a gorgeous day for your soul.
What if what your logic tells you is a mean season, in reality, is the very experience you just get through your own more of your light, talent, creativity, productivity and peace?
Anyway, not quite sure how this piece will land on you. But do know I wrote from my truth. And a place of hoping my words will help.
Yes, if you’re hurting or worrying or fearing or crying:
…this will pass.
…you’ll look back on this time as one of radical growth that served your rise.
…your tears will cleanse you and you’ll (sometime soon!) see that pain is a precious purifier.
…the fire of difficulty will yield to a great spark of increased humanity (because all great souls suffer more than they deserve but this is what makes them great).
Anyway, I must get back to working on my new book (it’ll be available in January 2027 for everyone asking). I hope this note brings you value. Please share it with many as many need some encouragement today.
Love + respect,
Robin
