Last week, we were talking about the joys of reading in that perfect space…. But also the beauty in reading in imperfect spaces. Here’s what you had to say.
Carlos J. wrote: “I agree, read as much as you can, where you can. In the waiting room during one of my kids dentist visits, waiting for a baseball practice to end, while charging my EV at a charging station, the locations are endless but they’re there. I live by the mantra, always have a book handy because you never know when a moment to read will present itself. As for my perfect place to read I do have a spot in my backyard patio that I try to read any opportunity I get. It’s as close to perfection as possible. Birds hang out on the electrical wires and provide my reading soundtrack. I read as many pages as I can before the family wakes up … back to my book as the time when the family will wake draws near.”
Kat M. wrote: “While there is still something quite lovely and comforting about snuggling under quilts, hot cocoa nearby, reading a physical book, I no longer look at this as my ideal reading environment. Instead, I see my ideal place and time to read more as a function of the reading itself actually turning any environment into the ideal environment. When I am reading a good book, I lose myself in the book anyway, so whatever environment I am in disappears.”
Pat S. wrote: “I am retired and have the lovely opportunity to read daily, something I had little time for when working. There is a reclining chair in our bedroom that catches glorious Colorado sun rays every day, all year long. I busy myself in the morning and aim for the chair around noon when the rays warm up my spot. I grab a book or two, or three and get lost (I switch up depending on my mood). I wrap myself in a fluffy throw and read while the sun moves southwest in the sky. Sometimes I fall asleep. It all is a great part and joy of my day.”
See you next week!
