- Monday, January 26 | Principal’s Hour, 6:30 – 7:30 pm, Use this link to join virtually. There is no need to RSVP. We’ll use this time to discuss the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its current (and impending) impact on our schools. Part of the purpose of this time together will be to provide families some resources and connections with other families about how AI may be impacting raising this generation of children.

Family Cafe - The Connected Family: Navigating the Digital World Together
On Thursday, January 22, Region 3 will host this event at West Potomac High School Library from 6:30 to 8pm. HERE is the registration form for families who would like to join this conversation. You are also welcomed to just walk in without registering!
Technology connects us like never before, but it’s important to know how to stay safe while using it. This family workshop provides hands-on learning about internet safety to inform families of:
- Today’s popular social sites and apps used by students
- Effective strategies to engage youth in discussions regarding internet safety
- 7 primary topics to discuss with youth that will remain important from kindergarten through adulthood
Join FCPS Intervention and Prevention Services to learn how your family can build healthy, secure, and positive habits online together.

SLES Spelling Bee Thursday, Feb. 12th at 6pm
Join us for the annual Spelling Bee this February! The Bee will be schoolwide,
with all students participating the evening of Feb. 12th. We will continue to use
the Jr. and Sr. Bee Format. Please use the link to sign your student(s) up, and
please also consider volunteering to help make this Bee great! Registration will
close: Jan. 23rd at 8pm.
