Key MS Music Department
The deposit for the music department spring trip is due on Friday, January 23rd. Students in Band, Chorus, and Orchestra must have this back in order to participate in the trip. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.

Immunization Events
Immunization Events for FCPS Students
FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will provide school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. Additional dates will be available throughout the school year.
Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. View immunization resources on the FCPS website.

Healthy Habits to Reduce the Spread of Flu and Other Germs
Fairfax County is seeing very high levels of influenza (flu) illness. Visits to emergency departments and urgent care centers for flu-like illness have increased, especially among children, and multiple flu outbreaks have occurred in our community and school settings.
Consider these tips from the Fairfax County Health Department to help reduce the spread of flu and other germs.

Richard Byrd Library Temporarily Closed
Richard Byrd Library will remain closed to the public for an anticipated five weeks while repairs are made to the facility's heating system.
What You Need To Know
- During the closure, library customers are encouraged to visit one of our 21 other locationsto attend programs, retrieve materials and utilize services. Nearby branches include Pohick Regional Libraryand John Marshall Library.
- Due dates for items checked out from Richard Byrd Library have been extended until February 17, 2026, as a courtesy.
- Please note: Items may not be returned to Richard Byrd Library during the closure; but can be accepted at any of our other 21 locations.
Customers With Holds
- New holds cannot currently be selected for pickup at Richard Byrd Library.
- All customer holds that were available at Richard Byrd Library will be moved to Pohick Regional Library (6450 Sydenstricker Rd). These items will be available for pickup Wednesday, December 17 through Wednesday, December 31 at 5 p.m.
- All other holds currently in the system designated for pickup at Richard Byrd Library will be automatically changed to Pohick Regional Libraryfor the duration of the closure. Please note this location on future e-mail notifications.
Any customers wishing to pick up their requested material at a different branch may change the designated pickup location or suspend their holds by accessing their account.

FCPS is asking all families to complete a Federal Impact Aid Survey. The form is available in SIS ParentVUE under Online Packets, which is in the upper right corner of the screen after logging in. Please complete the survey as soon as possible.
Our school will provide paper forms to families who have not completed the survey in ParentVUE. For more information, please visit the Federal Impact Aid Survey page or watch this video about why Impact Aid matters.
